She Writes Woman Mental Health Initiative is a women-led disability rights nonprofit movement that gives a voice to mental health in Nigeria by empowering people who live with mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities to tell their own stories, advocate for their rights and co-create their solutions.

As we continue to scale our groundbreaking work, we are looking to recruit young people to grow with us. Energetic, experienced and passionate about mental health, human rights and disability rights are some of the qualities we are scouting for at our HQ in Abuja.

Through our 24/7 toll-free helpline, free teletherapy and digital community, we provide essential mental health support while driving policy reform and legislative advocacy. 

As part of our commitment to scaling access to evidence-based mental health support, we are seeking qualified, passionate, and driven Mental Health Professionals to join our team. 

Minimum Qualifications. 

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Psychology from a recognized institution. 

  • A Master’s Degree (MSc/MA) in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Health Psychology or a closely related mental health field. 

  • At least 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a hospital, community mental healthcare, school-based, NGO/humanitarian or private practice setting. 

Core Competencies & Required Skills. 

  • Ability to carry out psychological assessments and case formulation. 

  • Competence in using CBT, ACT & Mindfulness. 

  • Familiarity with the ethical codes of conduct and mental health legislation in Nigeria. 

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Strong computer literacy for telehealth or digital records including Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, Slides, etc. 

  • Cultural sensitivity and a client-centred approach. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Preferred.

  • Experience working with underserved populations or in humanitarian contexts. 

  • Familiarity with providing mental health services via digital platforms. 

  • Certification or training in Trauma-Focused Therapy and/or Addiction Counselling.

  • Prior involvement in mental health advocacy and policy work. 

  • Full or provisional licensure by the Nigerian Association of Clinical Psychologists (NACP) or any recognized professional body relevant to practice.  

Key Responsibilities.

  • Provide mental health first aid via the She Writes Woman helpline or digital channels 

  • Provide psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions to individuals or groups. 

  • Maintain detailed records in line with ethical requirements and SWW standards. 

  • Participate in supervision, training, and continuous development.

  • Contribute to mental health advocacy, psychoeducation, and awareness programs.

  • Collaborate with other professionals and stakeholders in beneficiary care and support.

Job Description

  • Policy & Legislative Advocacy: Support the development and implementation of advocacy strategies to influence mental health policies and legislation.

DATA ANALYST

Location: Abuja, Nigeria (in-person)

Our 24/7 toll-free helpline, community-led services, and survivor-informed programs have impacted millions of lives.

As we mark 10 years of impact, we are launching a commemorative Impact Report, and we are looking for a dynamic Data Analyst to help us tell the story behind the numbers.

Role Summary

The Data Analyst will primarily work with the Support Unit in collating, aggregating, analyzing, and visualizing data from multiple sources (quantitative and qualitative). This role is essential to shaping the 10-Year Impact Report of She Writes Woman by transforming data into compelling insights, trends, and narratives that reflect our journey and societal change. In addition, the Data Analyst will work on turning qualitative data including interviews, consultations and milestones into compelling insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collate and clean data from helpline calls, teletherapy logs, case notes, and feedback systems

  • Aggregate and analyze both structured and unstructured data to uncover trends, patterns, and performance insights

  • Work closely with the Programmes Team/Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) and Communications teams to shape data into storytelling

  • Design and maintain dashboards for real-time tracking of helpline/teletherapy metrics

  • Generate visuals, graphs, charts, and infographics for the 10-Year Impact Report

  • Assist in drafting the data and outcomes sections of the report with strong narrative support

  • Present findings to internal teams and stakeholders in clear, actionable formats

  • Ensure data compliance with ethical, privacy, and safeguarding standards, especially concerning sensitive mental health records

  • Standardise data collection, management and processing systems in the organisation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Psychology, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in data analysis, preferably in a health, humanitarian, or development sector context

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools

  • Experience with both quantitative and qualitative data sets

  • Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, R, STATA, or Python

  • Demonstrated ability to convert data into visual and written stories

  • Based in Abuja, with the ability to work onsite (this is a non-remote role)

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Strong ethical grounding and sensitivity to mental health, disability rights and vulnerable populations

Desirable (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Prior experience working with mental health, psychosocial support, or helpline/teletherapy programs

  • Familiarity with global reporting frameworks (SDGs, WHO MHATs, or MHIS)

  • Experience with GIS or geo-mapping tools for visualizing service distribution

  • Knowledge of Nigerian data protection regulations and humanitarian principles

  • Experience working with international NGOs, donors, or multilaterals (e.g. WHO, UN, DFID, USAID)
